Matthew Swaggart’s journey into ministry began behind the scenes—building, creating, and serving with his hands.
In his early twenties, he worked as a photographer and designer, developing a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, storytelling, and excellence. During those years, he served on staff within the local church, supporting media, outreach, and discipleship—learning to love the Church not from a platform, but from the work required to serve it faithfully.
That season shaped his work ethic, his understanding of ministry, and a calling to serve without the need for recognition.
During the same period, Matthew founded HoldFast Gear from a small workbench in his home, believing that excellence honors God. What began as one handmade camera strap grew into a globally recognized brand. Through building the company, Matthew learned to lead, steward responsibility, and trust God in uncertainty.
These years were not separate from ministry. They formed a preacher shaped through leadership, creativity, adversity, and obedience—carrying one message forward: to stand, to go, and to carry the Gospel wherever God opens the door.
